Casual for a Cause Donation

Deb Messing, EAA (left), on behalf of the staff of Sanilac County Community Mental Health (Sanilac CMH), was pleased to present a check in the amount of $929 to Pastor Kyle Gerrild (right) of the Countryside Free Methodist Church to support their annual Backpack Project. This program supplies back-to-school supplies in backpacks in August annually for students heading back to school. CMH staff have been longtime supporters of this project.

The money donated by CMH employees is obtained through their “Casual for a Cause” fundraiser. CMH employees are allowed to dress casually every other Friday in exchange for a $3 donation to the “Casual for a Cause” fund, with the understanding that the money would be donated to initiatives that benefit citizens of Sanilac County.

Former recipients include Walk for Warmth, Shop with a Hero, Outpost Ministry Foodbank, Thumbs Up for Kids, and the Sanilac County Veterans’ Affairs Solders Relief and Transportation funds.
